In today’s blog, I’d like to share with you something that has been on my mind lately, and certainly it is something that I believe will really help you in your own Internet Marketing business, and help you to take your business to the next level…especially if you currently find yourself in a space where you are generating some level of results, but you’re not necessarily where you currently want to be.
This is the idea of not needing to do what everybody else is doing in the industry… and in general, in life… just being alright with going left when everybody else is going right. It can be an extremely difficult thing to do and extremely scary.
But sometimes it’s just what you have to do if you want to go ahead and accomplish whatever goals you have set for yourself for your business and for your life.
So with my personal business. I am a Solo Ad marker. I get the majority of my traffic from Solo Ads… most of my leads from Solo Ads… some CPA networks at times… but usually I use Solo Ads, and they have worked extremely well for me. I’ve managed to build a list of over now 17,000 people. I’ve managed to do well in my business, breaking through and bringing in roughly $3,000 – $5,000 per month on a consistent basis… and really Solo Ads have been the backbone of my business.
But for the longest time I’ve had an anxiety within me that I was doing something wrong because I was using Solo Ads. And I found that I had an anxiety based on the fact that almost everybody else in the industry was using Facebook Ads… everybody else in the industry was using Twitter… everybody else in the industry constantly talking about Social Media being the place where you had to go in order to generate traffic.
I’m not telling you that you have to use Solo Ads, or that you have to use Facebook, or Twitter. What you should do is be willing to look at what your personality type and what resonates with you… what really makes you comfortable… what you’re comfortable with implementing in your business. And you have to be willing to make decisions on what you want using your business, and what path do you want to take your life, in general, based on who you actually are and what experiences you’ve actually had that led to whatever conclusions you’ve made when you look in the mirror.
So returning to the Solo Ads example. I found that I was completely and totally uncomfortable with actually being successful with Solo Ads. I was generating leads… I was making sales… I was actually in profit mode… and I was building an email list. But because everybody was talking about Facebook… and talking about how Solo Ads were not necessarily being what you want to focus on… it took me a long time to really get comfortable with the idea that Solo Ads was a good way build my business and to really scale it to the next level.
And that discomfort was based on that part of me wanting to go in the same direction that everybody else was going. Right when I broke through that… right when I made the decision to take action based on what was working for me… to take action based on what felt right for me, and what resonated with my own personalty. I always liked the idea of Solo Ads working for my business… and they were
working. But I was uncomfortable based on other people telling me that it wasn’t the route that I should take.
Right when I made the decision to go all in and really scale my business with Solo Ads, and use them as my primary method of traffic generation… to stop messing around on a small level… to stop listening to what everybody else was saying…and really take my business the next level using Solo Ads… everything shifted. Good things started to happen. I hit the leaderboard… I started making sales… I started making bigger profits… and start making higher ticket sale because I had a larger volume of new customers coming through.
So I was right in making the decision that I wasn’t going to conform to what everybody else was saying, and I wasn’t just going to go down the same path that everybody else was taking. And making that decision is when everything shifted for me.
There have been many times in my life that I’ve had to make that decisions that went against the grain and against what everybody else was telling me to do. I wasn’t afraid to make that decision to go left when every one else was going right.
So what I would highly recommend you doing is just look at your business…look at your life…and notice where you’re being influenced in ways that aren’t necessarily serving you based on you trying to make decisions that other people want to make… that you yourself don’t actually want to make.
And then analyze whether that’s actually the decision that is going to serve you best. Also analyze whether your just trying to go in the same direction that everybody else is going.
So in conclusion, don’t be afraid to go left when everybody else is going right. Make your decisions based on what feels right for you, not other people telling you to do.
